Stepping into the future

Students at ContinU Plus Academy recently took part in two exciting career-focused trips designed to help them explore their future pathways.

Year 11 students travelled to the NEC to attend a large careers event filled with a wide variety of stalls from employers, training providers and universities. Students had the opportunity to walk around the exhibition, speak directly with representatives and gather information about different career routes. Many of the stalls offered interactive activities and demonstrations, allowing students to gain a better understanding of specific industries and the skills they require.

Meanwhile, Year 10 students were invited to The Six Ways in Worcester for a similar careers experience. During the event, students explored different stalls and had the chance to interact with universities and organisations offering further education opportunities.

They were able to take part in practical participation activities that demonstrated real-life job skills and career tasks. These hands-on experiences helped students see how classroom learning can connect to future careers.

Both trips provided valuable opportunities for students to ask questions, explore different professions and start thinking seriously about their next steps after school. By interacting with universities, employers and apprenticeship providers, students left the events with a clearer understanding of the many pathways available to them in the future.
