Year 11 visited The British Museum in London on 24th January 2018.
This was part of their evidence towards their Arts Award Silver Level 2. They went to view and explore the different cultures of Africa, North America, Mexico and Egypt; understanding how sculptures were made, how paintings were created and how ancient tribes used masks to warn or worship spirits. While exploring the different galleries the students compared the making of their final pieces to original pieces of aboriginal art. Overall the trip was a huge success as it allowed the students to visually see the enormous scale of the sculptures and paints and understand why they were created.
