The ContinU Plus Academy is delighted to announce the official reopening of Coopers Mill Outdoor Education Hub, conference centre and holiday let based in the beautiful surroundings of the Wyre Forest.
As specialists in Alternative Provision, and an area leader in Outdoor Education, the acquisition of Coopers Mill as an educational and residential addition to our local offer seemed to make a lot of sense
Since gaining the lease in 2021, we have made extensive improvements to the site, with a new roof, WIFI, enhanced phone coverage and other renovations, bringing the property into the 21st Century.

History of Coopers Mill
The original Coopers Mill was recorded in 1278 and was used for apple pressing and to grind corn. Recorded as Coventry Mill on a 1785 map it was disused by 1898 and was finally demolished in 1967, being in a dangerous state. The renovated Cottage stands on the site of the historic mill and tavern which was part of the local history of Dowles brook and Wyre forest. The Worgan trust owns the site and was set up by the Cadbury family in the 1960’s as a means of teaching inner city children about farming, food and the countryside.
Accommodation
The new and improved Coopers Mill is ready for action. Accommodation comprises of a conference/teaching room with interactive whiteboard, whiteboard, desks and seating for groups of up to 10.
The overnight accommodation is provided in a dormitory style room sleeping 4 on full size bunkbeds, a single room, and additional bedding in the conference room for a further 2 people.
We have a dining room/lounge area with a log burner, a farmhouse table that can seat 10 and a large kitchen area fitted out with a sink, oven, fridge and microwave. The bathroom facilities include a Girls, Boys and Disabled toilet area with a shower in each.
All groups booking the cottage will also have full access to the outside space, including the campsite and fire pit- with additional camping for up to 20 people.
The additional camping space for 20 includes access to the showers and toilets you will need to provide your own tents. (Larger groups please contact Craig Murphy- Business manager on 01562822463)
Availability
Coopers Mill cottage and Camp site is available during weekends and across the school holidays. Weekend lets will only be available to hire from 6pm Friday to 11am Sunday.
During school holidays groups or families can book the whole week for a Wyre forest get away.
In the event of the cottage being vacant, parties may be able to book the campsite only option (with shower block access) at a lower rate through discussion with the school.

18th February to 27th February** – Available for a full week stay £500.00
4th March to 7th April – Available Friday to Sunday £200.00
8th April to 24th April** – Available for 2 x 1 week stay £600.00
29th April to 27th May – Available Friday to Sunday £200.00
28th May to 5th June – Available for a full week stay £600.00
10th June to 17th July – Available Friday to Sunday £250.00
22nd July to 3rd September** – Available for a week-long stay £700.00
