Coronavirus (Covid-19) updated advice

Monday, March 16, 2020 0 News, Uncategorized

We are writing to inform you of the advice and practices we are taking as a school regarding the recent spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We are following guidance from the Department for Education and Public Health England to ensure we have the most up-to-date guidance and information for managing risk.  We are reducing the risk by ensuring effective hygiene practice and cleaning procedures as advised by Public Health England, and your child needs to understand and follow these procedures:

  • Wash hands frequently with soap for at least 20 seconds – before and after eating, after toilet visits or when hands have had contact with respiratory secretions from coughing, sneezing or wiping noses
  • Use hand sanitisers when there is no immediate access to running water
  • Cover the mouth and nose with a tissue then sneezing or coughing and discarding the tissue immediately

Following up to date advice from the NHS pupils are advised to stay at home for 7 days if they have the following symptoms;

  • a high temperature – if you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new continuous cough – this means you start coughing repeatedly

In the event of this happening it is our advice for all siblings to also self isoalte.
