Interventions can be put into place to support pupils who need a little extra help.  On entry to the CPA baseline assessments are used to allocate 1:1 intervention time to individuals.

Interventions can be both academic and therapeutic in nature.  We run reading and spelling interventions using the Rapid Read Plus Programme and Rising Stars, and Wordshark is used for spelling support.  Maths interventions are based around the Numeracy Ninjas programme and target fundamental gaps in pupils understanding.

Interventions are run by our experienced team of learning coaches and they enable pupils to make accelerated progress.

Some pupils require extra therapeutic support.  The interventions that we run include a Managing Strong Emotions Programme, Anger Management, Life Skills, Therapeutic Art and Counselling Sessions.

Pupil progress is tracked and monitored by the SENCO, Karen Challen, using WRAT 4 tests and the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ).  The intervention timetable enables us to offer pupils a bespoke package of support, encouraging engagement and support.
